BEST BUY HIRING FOR TWO BRONX STORES

Bronx, New York- Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Best Buy, Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, The Bronx Business Solutions Center and The Gateway Fast Track Unit have partnered to host one of the borough's largest job fairs involving only one employer.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 3rd through October 18th, Best Buy executives will be at the Bronx Business Solution Center, located on 149th Street, conducting screenings, interviews and possibly hiring up to 200 residents in the Bronx store.

This job fair will allow our residents to work at the two new Bronx locations scheduled to open in 2008 and 2009; Fordham Road is scheduled to open in November of 08 and The Gateway Location will open in summer of 09.

New employees will be trained by the Best Buy management training team at the Fordham Location, a 42,000 Square Foot facility located on 400 East Fordham Road, and then many employees will transition within a year to 60,000 Square Foot facility at the Gateway Mall once construction is completed.

Although this 6 week job fair is not limited to Bronx residents, Best Buy strives to involve their local communities in the positive economic growth they provide.
